Anchorage is Alaska's largest city with nearly
261,000 people.
CLIMATE:
Summer tempuratures can reach into the high
70's; winters bring on the snow with
tempuratures into the 20's.
WHAT TO WEAR:
In summer bring a jacket or sweater, comfortable
walking shoes. In winter, bring heavy warm
layers of clothes, long underwear, warm hat,
gloves, and warm boots.
TIME ZONE:
Alaska is one hour behind West Coast's Pacific
Standard Time and four hours behind Eastern
Standard Time.
CURRENCY, BANKS & MONEY
EXCHANGE:
U.S. Dollars are the currency in Alaska. Major
credit cards and travelers checks are widely
accepted. ATM's are available for cash
withdrawals.
VISAS / PASSPORTS:
Visas are not required for USA stays up to 90
days. Your passport must have a minimum of 6
months validity as of the date of arrival in USA
and Canada.
TRAVEL INSURANCE:
We recommend strongly you take out a
comprehensive insurance policy at the time of
booking to protect you against cancellation fees
should it be necessary for you to cancel your
trip due to illness or unexpected medical
expenses.

110 volt is universal - take an adaptor.

TIPPING:
Restaurant bills do not usually include a
service charge or gratuity, but it is standard
to tip your server about 15% of the total bill
(before taxes). The customary gratuity to tour
guides and drivers is $1.00 - $2.00 per day
